While roaming around downtown in search of new eats I stumbled across a family owned Creole restaurant so I decided to check it out. The small space definitely gives New Orleans vibes. It's not a space that can accommodate large parties. They serve breakfast all day, your typical Creole items and some unique ones. I decided to try the Voodoo Chicken & Mac, Punch, pecan tart and carrot cake. The punch tasted just like kool aid! A taste of my childhood all over again. It was an even balance of sweet and flavor. The VCM was essentially a mac & cheese bowl with barbecue chicken on the top. It tasted so good. The chicken was flavored well. I wish there was a bit more chicken in the bowl. The mac and cheese was a little more greasier than I would have liked. The pecan tart was delicious, I think the bigger pecans on the top were a bit much but the ones within the filling were good. The carrot cake wasn't anything special. I really wanted to gooey cake but they ran out.

This place was a great find. You walk up and place your order. I had the jambalaya and my husband had the southern Mac and cheese. Both were delicious. It was crowded at lunchtime. There are only a few tables inside and they were all taken, but by the time our food was ready, a table opened up. I wanted to take our food to the nearby Olympic Park, but we ate inside the restaurant. Nothing fancy - just good food.

I tried three orders. Gumbo, red beans and rice and jambalaya. All of them was decent, but the red beans and rice had the most flavor. I would reorder that again!

This fast casual spot has limited seating in a great location. After ordering, it does take some time for the order to be made. I got a small Voodoo BBQ Jambalaya that had a ton of flavor and was very filling. There was a good amount of sausage and some shrimp and chicken. The chicken could be slightly dry and my favorite was the sausage. Next time I'd get the regular Jambalaya.

My first meal in Atlanta was this hidden gem and I couldn't be happier! The food was absolutely amazing and bursting with flavor. We ordered the Jambalaya, which has rice, chicken, shrimp, and sausage. This meal had so much flavor and had a kick to it! We also ordered the Pasta Yaya, which has shrimp and sausage in creole cream pasta. It was incredibly creamy and delicious. For the full experience, we had to order some dessert. Angie's Bread Pudding melted in my mouth and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The Sweet Punch was indeed sweet, but refreshing from the savory foods. Pasta Yaya and Jambalaya (Regular for both): $18 Sweet Punch: $5 Bread Pudding: $8 While there's minimal seating inside, there are some spots available outside. The ordering process is straightforward: you order at the register and grab your food when your number is called. Overall, I highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Food Shoppe in Atlanta, Georgia, and it was an unforgettable experience. I started with the jambalaya, which was spectacular. The rice was perfectly tender, and the combination of sausage, chicken, and shrimp stole the show. Next, I tried the Pasta Yaya. This dish was equally impressive, with a creamy sauce. The flavors were rich and well-balanced. For dessert, we indulged in Angie's Bread Pudding. It was, without a doubt, the best bread pudding I've ever had. The texture was perfect--soft and moist without being overly sweet. The caramel sauce drizzled on top added just the right amount of sweetness, making it a perfect end to the meal. Overall, The Food Shoppe is a must-visit if you're in Atlanta. This restaurant offers a dining experience that is both memorable and satisfying. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the area.

Food Shoppe is a simple spot to go when you want genuine New Orleans cuisine. There's seating inside but it's a little tight and not that suited for a party bigger than 4; you'd want to order to go. Because it's made to order, there can be a bit of a wait but it's well worth the experience. Honestly for any travelers staying at the Omni or the nearby hotels, this is walkable and worthwhile. Most recently I got their voodoo jambalaya. It's jambalaya with BBQ sauce. I actually took someone from Louisana from there who found the food authentic and delicious. As for dessert, get the Angie's bread pudding. You'll thank me later after you've woken up from your food coma. The carmel sauce is made in house. Basically, if you're going to feel guilty eating dessert you may as well go all out. All in all, Food Shoppe is a great call-in, pick-up spot to take back to your house, gorge, and pass out.
